An Effort to Kickstart Discussions on What’s Next for the Sean McDermott Street Laundry

Tattered paint peels from the deep-red walls. Rolled-up carpets gather dust. At the end of the hallway, an almost life-size crucifix hangs crookedly. It is damaged, broken and in this effigy of Jesus, his eyes are closed. That image is captured in one of the photographs taken by architecture student André Goyvaerts, inside the former Magdalene laundry on Sean McDermott Street.
